Welcome back letter from Mrs Waterman

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and the children are well and raring to go! We are looking forward to welcoming them back to school tomorrow, Wednesday 5th January.

Drop off and Pick up

Our timing and locations for drop off and pick up remain the same as before the holidays. We will continue to run a slightly staggered drop with the gate being opened at 8.45am and closed promptly at 9am. Pick up remains the same for all children at 3.30pm promptly.

Face Covering

Staff will be wearing face coverings when greeting the children at the gates but will NOT be wearing them in classes. We would appreciate it if parents could maintain appropriate ‘social distancing’ and wear face coverings when on the school site.  Thank you

Warmth

We are required to ‘well ventilate’ the school and keep windows and doors open. Please add layers under your child’s uniform, leggings, vests, t shirts, extra socks etc. A gilet or body warmer is better in the classroom than a long-sleeved coat as it allows easier movement for writing! Thank you in advance.

Staff Absence

As you are probably aware, staff test twice weekly with LFT. At the time of writing, we have 4 staff members who have tested positive in the last few days with Covid. These staff members will now need to self-isolate (following government guidance). This may mean your child is taught by a different teacher, supported by a different TA or taught by a teacher working remotely. Hopefully things will settle back down once we are back.

Watching out for symptoms

We are passionate about keeping the school open and running as effectively as possible. We do need everyone to help play a part in this and help to keep our staff and children as ‘covid-free’ as possible. Please be vigilant about monitoring your children for symptoms.
